Learn about Michael Roenigk, your Maryland Eastern Shore Realtor

Hello,
my name is Michael Roenigk and I have lived on Marylands “Eastern Shore” for over 15 years. My Wife and I thoroughly enjoy the “Lifestyle” here on Kent Island and The Shore! The” Eastern Shore” offers many amenities that keep people like myself appreciating it's rich Location. From Boating on the Chesapeake Bay to the many River's and Creeks that surround. The diversity of Restaurants and Activities is a great attraction to scores of people who descend here all year long! I always seem to get the same reaction with my Buyers from the Western Shore...They all tell me that once they have crossed the Bay Bridge, they feel like have entered into a more Relaxed and sometimes Vacation like Setting! I feel that I can most certainly provide a Positive experience on Buying or Selling a Home here on Maryland's Beautiful Eastern Shore. Please feel free to call or E-mail me with any thoughts or questions pertaining to Real Estate in this Wonderful area! Your also only one click away from entering into an Relaxed and Enjoyable Search of our Unique Market here!

I specialize in rent with option to buy situation’s for people looking to get into owning their 1st home. The housing market on the eastern shore of Maryland tends to have cheaper, less expensive homes than on the western shore. The quality of life on the eastern shore of Maryland is far superior in my opinion too. For instance the schools here in Queen Anne’s county have been rated some of the best in Maryland. The crime rate on the eastern shore is lower overall than the western counties of Maryland. Being able to bring your family up in a more relaxed, water privileged area with plenty of public parks to take advantage of. There are many waterfront and water privileged homes, town homes, condos here on the eastern shore. Some are right on the Chesapeake Bay and others are nestled up in beautiful rivers, creeks and coves.

Steeped in history dating back to 1631, Queen Anne's County's historic sites and landmarks are still evident in the small towns and villages where you'll find museums, historic churches, courthouses, train stations and a working grist mill. Shoppers have a world of choices, from a 55-store outlet center in Queenstown to one-of-a-kind antique shops to the weekly auction in Crumpton, one of the largest on the East coast.

The Chesapeake Bay and her tributaries make for an awesome playground. Whether you want to try your hand at crabbing, fishing, or boating, or water-skiing, it's hard not to find an opportunity to have fun on the water, yet our parks and trails beckon the weary traveler to stroll through our woods, fields, and marshland.

Thank You,

Michael Roenigk

Eastern Shore Towns

Have a taste of small town life where the past and present blend into a charming picture. Each town has a unique flavor, from the waterfront village of Queenstown in the south, to Sudlersville in the north, which is surrounded by the farmland that has sustained the community for three centuries.

Centreville

Centreville sets a classic example of small town America. Lovers of period architecture can stroll tree lined streets and study good examples, from simple austere colonial homes to gracious Victorian-era dwellings with wrap around porches. The town is the center of government operations and has been since incorporation in 1794, but settlement dates back to the establishment of St. Paul's Parish in 1692. The Episcopal church, at 301 South Liberty Street, was built in the early 1700's at a cost of over 15,000 pounds of tobacco.

Church Hill

Church Hill had, at one time, as many as six churches in the town, but the name is most likely derived from St. Luke's which sits on top of the hill at the foot of Walnut Street.

Kent Island

Kent Island, the first English settlement in Maryland was predated only by colonies at Jamestown and Plymouth Rock. In August 1631, William Claiborne landed here and established an outpost for trading. His founding is acknowledged now only by a historic marker, but the island has evolved into a base of commercial enterprises and residential population for the county. Embraced by the Chester River on the north and the Eastern Bay on the south the Kent Narrows channel divides it from the mainland.

Kent Narrows

Kent Narrows was, for generations, a bustling center of commercial seafood processing, with as many as twelve packing houses operating at once, and hundreds of watermen bringing the catch to the docks. Today, the tradition continues and fresh seafood is featured on the menu at unique dining establishments in the area. Marine businesses, dock bars, and events also make "The Narrows" a popular destination for pleasure boaters and tourists.
